Battle of the Sexes, Suburbicon, Daddy’s Home 2 & Disney Songs

Oscar-winner Emma Stone tackles Billie-Jean King, facing off against Steve Carell’s Bobby Riggs in Battle of the Sexes – but who gets KO’d? Laurie also saw George Clooney’s Suburbicon with Matt Damon, co-written with the Coen Brothers, and Daddy’s Home 2 with Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg and… Mel Gibson?? Phil takes us through a tour of top Disney songs, and we wonder what it is that makes the good ones great. Listen out for your emails and tweets towards the end of the show, and send more of your thoughts and comments in to superbaileybros@gmail.com and @superbaileybros. Thanks for listening!

Guardians of the Galaxy 2, The Promise, Lady Macbeth, Movie Clinic, The Amazing Spiderman 2 & Birdman

Laurie strapped in for a white-knuckle Marvel (Disney) ride with the Guardians in their hugely anticipated sequel, again penned and helmed by studio magic man James Gunn. He also saw Oscar Isaac & Christian Bale in The Promise, and caught Florence Pugh & William Oldroyd’s almost-debut, Lady Macbeth. We answer Stephen’s pressing film problem in our Movie Clinic, this time featuring Lorene Scafaria’s Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World, and WWBW takes us through The Amazing Spiderman 2 and the Oscar-winning Birdman. La La Land, A Monster Calls, Monster Trucks, Emma Watson’s Singing & Trilogies

Did we la la love La La Land? (Sorry, bad joke) find out what we made of the Golden Globe-winning movie and its charismatic stars Ryan Gosling & Emma Stone as they hop skip, dance & sing around the screen. Phil saw poignant fantasy A Monster Calls with Felicity Jones & Laurie saw the much less poignant Monster Trucks with Rob Lowe – who got the better end of the deal? We also discuss Emma Watson’s singing in the recent clips from the live action Beauty & The Beast remake, while Phil takes us on a brief detour all to do with trilogies. Phew! Lots of good stuff to listen to – thanks for tuning in, keep your emails & tweets coming to superbaileybros@gmail.com & @superbaileybros!
