Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, The Big Sick, War for the Planet of the Apes & The Beguiled

Luc Besson’s record-breaking independent production landed in cinemas earlier this week with Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne – is it good enough to justify its enormous budget? Phil saw Kumail Nanjiani’s real-life romcom The Big Sick & caught up with Andy Serkis and Woody Harrelson in War for the Planet of the Apes. Laurie also managed to find a screening of Sofia Coppola’s The Beguiled with Nicole Kidman, almost-darling of the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. And of course, we’ve got your emails and tweets to read out towards the end of the show – keep them coming to superbaileybros@gmail.com and @superbaileybros! Thanks for listening.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2, The Promise, Lady Macbeth, Movie Clinic, The Amazing Spiderman 2 & Birdman

Laurie strapped in for a white-knuckle Marvel (Disney) ride with the Guardians in their hugely anticipated sequel, again penned and helmed by studio magic man James Gunn. He also saw Oscar Isaac & Christian Bale in The Promise, and caught Florence Pugh & William Oldroyd’s almost-debut, Lady Macbeth. We answer Stephen’s pressing film problem in our Movie Clinic, this time featuring Lorene Scafaria’s Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World, and WWBW takes us through The Amazing Spiderman 2 and the Oscar-winning Birdman. John Wick 2, Fences, A Cure For Wellness, Browards Categories Announced

Keanu Reeves takes on just about everyone in John Wick: Chapter 2, follow-up to the 2014 cult action classic from Chad Stahelski – Laurie tells us whether the sequel measures up. Phil caught Denzel Washington and Oscar-nominated Viola Davis in Fences, while Laurie also squeezed in Gore Verbinski’s odd horror-mystery A Cure For Wellness with Dane DeHaan. And we finally announce the categories for the 2017 #Browards! Get your nominations in to superbaileybros@gmail.com and @superbaileybros on Twitter. Thanks for listening!
