Welcome to Movie Land

Cannes Film Festival Special with Benedict Seal!

Benedict was at Cannes 2017 this year and gives us the highs and lows of his festival experience – plus the big question everyone’s asking: how many beers did he share with Will Smith? Featured films include Visages Villages from Agnes Varda, You Were Never Really Here from Lynne Ramsay, The Killing of a Sacred Deer from Yorgos Lanthimos, Okja from Bong Joon Ho, Good Time with Robert Pattinson and even The Meyerowitz Stories from Noah Baumbach. Tune in for his thoughts and what to look out for this year – and give him a round of applause; he saw 27 films in the space of 10 days! An impressive feat in the sunshine of Southern France. Let us know your thoughts and opinions on superbaileybros@gmail.com and @superbaileybros on Twitter.

Wonder Woman, War Machine, Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge & After the Storm

Gal Gadot storms into cinemas as Wonder Woman this weekend, has the DCEU finally scored a hit with Patty Jenkins directing? Laurie tells all and also covers Hirokazu Kore-eda’s new family drama After the Storm, plus Brad Pitt’s new political satire War Machine on Netflix originals. Phil caught Johnny Depp and Brenton Thwaites in Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge (or was it Dead Men Tell No Tales?), and also covers off the whole Pirates franchise for a bit of nostalgic context in WWBW. Thanks for your emails & tweets sent to superbaileybros@gmail.com and @superbaileybros, and thanks for listening!

Baywatch, The Red Turtle, Snatched, Eye Acting, Pain & Gain and Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Laurie caught the Baywatch reboot with Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron – is it finally time for Zac to head back into our good books? He also saw Studio Ghibli co-production The Red Turtle from animation director Michael Dudok de Wit, and was lucky to catch a Q&A with the man himself too. Phil saw Amy Schumer’s comedy caper Snatched, also starring Goldie Hawn, and today’s WWBW features Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson in Pain and Gain, and James Cameron’s classic sequel Terminator 2: Judgment Day. As if that weren’t enough, we also have a brief chit chat on great eye acting examples, and ask for your thoughts and suggestions too. Thanks for listening and being in touch on superbaileybros@gmail.com and @superbaileybros on Twitter!
