Up first we have a spoiler-free review of Steven Spielberg’s Bridge of Spies, then our debut Interview, this time with an Architectural Designer talking Jurassic World – thought we’d do an artsy film? Guess again! Phil is nervous about Pixar (and that his opinions are unpopular!) and we finish with a full, spoilerific breakdown and discussion on Bridge of Spies for those who’ve seen the movie. Let us know what you think – and thanks to everyone who’s downloaded and emailed us so far!
Couldn’t resist it – Laurie & Phil talk Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, what their hopes and nerves are doing as we enter the final two weeks of waiting. Can J.J. Abrams pull it off? Will it be another nostalgia-fest or a great new tale? Laurie also dips into the huge tidal wave of Movie Marketing that’s going on for one of the most anticipated sequels of all time; Darth Vader pinatas? You bet. And finally we introduce the very first MOVIE COURT, this week with The Secret Life of Walter Mitty accused of, well, not being a very good movie. Laurie stands for the prosecution and Phil takes up the defense. Who will win? It’s a tense courtroom showdown! (sort of) Get in touch with your vote!
Straight out of the cinema, Laurie and Phil talk The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 with a short spoiler-free review up first, and a longer scene-by-scene breakdown at the end. Was it a fitting end to a much loved series? Is Gale hunkier than Peeta?? MOVIE HATE makes its first appearance as Laurie brings up the classic evil rival love interest character in romcoms, as Phil reminds us of the Owen Wilson good guy helpline. And finally Jude joins in to discuss falling asleep in movies. Phil reckons it’s the sweetest sleep around. What do you think? Get in touch and let us know! Plus a special mention to DavidSamuel for our first on-air email. Thanks for the picture David.
