The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Daniel Craig back as Bond, A Scanner Darkly & Rewatching Paterson, Captain Fantastic & Finding Dory

Is the pairing of Ryan Reynolds & Samuel L. Jackson buddy comedy lightning-in-a-bottle? Find out what Phil and Laurie thought of The Hitman’s Bodyguard. We also chat about Daniel Craig’s recent confirmation that he will be returning as James Bond, after much tedious speculation that Tom Hiddleston might take up the mantle, which let’s be honest, was never going to happen. Laurie’s What We’ve Been Watching films cover Richard Linklater’s A Scanner Darkly with Keanu Reeves and a rewatch of Finding Dory, and Phil gives his late thoughts to Captain Fantastic & Paterson. Thanks so much for your emails and tweets, we love getting them and reading them out on the show! Keep them coming to superbaileybros@gmail.com and @superbaileybros on Twitter.

Atomic Blonde, The Emoji Movie, Game of Thrones & Movie Clinic: A Knight’s Tale

Can Charlize Theron convince as an action hero in David Leitch’s cold war spy adaptation? Laurie saw Atomic Blonde and has the answer. Phil took a bullet for us all this week and went along to The Emoji Movie with T.J. Miller, Patrick Stewart and James ‘here I am again!’ Corden – enjoy his inevitable conclusion. We have a non-standard WWBW for you as well, covering cultural phenomenon Game of Thrones and our thoughts on the series as a whole, and Laurie also spends a couple of minutes asking for help in this week’s movie clinic, looking at a specific line delivered by Heath Ledger in A Knight’s Tale. Listen out for your emails and tweets towards the end of the show, and keep your thoughts coming to superbaileybros@gmail.com and @superbaileybros!

Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, The Big Sick, War for the Planet of the Apes & The Beguiled

Luc Besson’s record-breaking independent production landed in cinemas earlier this week with Dane DeHaan and Cara Delevingne – is it good enough to justify its enormous budget? Phil saw Kumail Nanjiani’s real-life romcom The Big Sick & caught up with Andy Serkis and Woody Harrelson in War for the Planet of the Apes. Laurie also managed to find a screening of Sofia Coppola’s The Beguiled with Nicole Kidman, almost-darling of the 2017 Cannes Film Festival. And of course, we’ve got your emails and tweets to read out towards the end of the show – keep them coming to superbaileybros@gmail.com and @superbaileybros! Thanks for listening.
